“You can make more friends in two months by becoming interested in other people than you can in two years by trying to get other people interested in you.” – Dale Carnegie

Catherine has a distinguished record of private and public service.

As Chief Marketing Officer and Director of Business Development for the Nassau County Industrial Development Agency (IDA) she worked closely with the Executive Director to attract over 10,000 new jobs to the county and established over 1,400 residential units for a net benefit to the county of $104 million. She developed and implemented the agency’s first formal marketing and communications strategic plan and worked aggressively to pinpoint areas of opportunity for economic growth through bolstering marketing, brand strategy and the latest economic research to best support development in the region.

During the height of the pandemic, Ms. Fee worked with the County of Nassau and Town of Hempstead to organize and distribute thousands of Personal Protective Equipment kits to local businesses in need and served as a sounding board for this struggling business demographic. Catherine connected donors with businesses that supplied needed essentials to hospitals in April of 2020.

Prior to her economic development work, Ms. Fee was Project Coordinator for former Nassau County Executive Laura Curran where she acted as liaison between the executive and other government officials, departments, community groups and stakeholders for a county with over 1.3 million residents. Additional roles for the county included strategic planning, crisis management, executive management, communications and special projects.

Previously, Catherine was the manager of a prominent Long Island law firm where she managed all aspects of day-to-day operations. Most recently, she was Associate Director of the Suffolk County IDA.

Over her career, Catherine has organized island-wide events to bring together businesses and key decision makers on the federal, state and local levels. Her broad knowledge of Long Island business needs makes her a critical asset to Empire’s government relations clients.

Ms. Fee was recognized and honored by Blank Slate Media as a 40 Under 40 nominee and sits on the Advisory Council to the Long Island Business Development Council (LIBDC).
